The following expert groups support the work of Cardiac Services BC.
The Provincial Advisory Committee on Cardiac Health (PACCH) is a standing expert medical advisory committee comprising health system leaders, clinical experts, and people with lived experience. This committee is accountable, through CSBC’s Executive Director, to PHSA's Board of Directors and to each of the regional health authority boards.
The PACCH provides medical and scientific expert advice and recommendations to CSBC on the full continuum of cardiac health, and evaluates and provides direction on the quality of patient care.
Executive Council is comprised of medical and operational leadership from each regional health authority’s cardiac program, people with lived experience, and Ministry of Health representatives that operates as the core provincial operational governance structure for CSBC. The committee provides direction in the development and execution of provincial strategic and operational initiatives and is a platform to discuss and disseminate health system information. Their scope of oversight includes:
- Data solutions and analytics
- Business operations and finance
- System planning and access
- Quality and integrated care
The Population Groups bring together diverse health care providers, system partners, and people with lived experience relevant to the four clinical populations of focus in CSBC’s work. The four groups are:
- Heart Rhythm
- Coronary Artery Disease
- Heart Failure and Chronic Cardiovascular Disease
- Aortic and Structural Cardiac Disease
Reporting to the Provincial Advisory Committee on Cardiac Health (PACCH), these groups extend the reach of the CSBC network, identify broad system service gaps and unmet needs across the continuum of care, and advise CSBC on emerging evidence, strategic policy, new system partnerships, and proposed solutions.
