Cardiac Services BC (CSBC) collects cardiac data to support clinical operations, system monitoring, quality improvement, research and policy development. This page outlines the reporting tools available and how to request additional data, if needed.
The Cardiac Registry data dashboards provide regional health authority cardiac sites with quick, self-serve access to key cardiac datasets from across British Columbia to support clinical, operational and quality improvement decision making.
Access is limited to approved cardiac program users. The dashboards are designed for staff and clinicians working within cardiac programs, including:
- Triage coordinators
- Physicians
- Health authority and site leaders
- Cardiac program and operations staff
- Data on patients referred for care, waiting for care, or who have received cardiac procedures (e.g., cardiac surgery, transcatheter heart valves, heart rhythm devices, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology)
- Pan‑provincial, health authority‑specific and site‑level trends
- Procedure volumes, system throughput, wait times and changes to patient status while awaiting care
- A comprehensive, timely view of patients needing access to cardiac services
The dashboards are available to all regional health authority cardiac sites. For questions about dashboard access or appropriate use of the data, contact
csbcsupport@phsa.ca.
CSBC can also generate data files for research, quality improvement, evaluation and health system planning.
CSBC brings a province‑wide, health system perspective to its analytics partnerships and works with requestors to support data‑driven system improvement and clinical innovation.
All data requests are managed in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and CSBC and PHSA data access policies and guidelines. As the data steward, CSBC reviews all requests to ensure appropriate use, privacy protection and system value. Requests for provincial‑level data for research and quality improvement purposes are reviewed and approved through the CSBC Research and Analytics Committee.
Used for health system operations, quality improvement, evaluation and planning. Typically requested by regional health authorities and system or program leaders.
- How to request: Email csbcdatarequest@phsa.ca with a brief description of your project and the aggregate measures requested.
Used for research and quality improvement projects where the requestor conducts their own statistical analysis.
- If your project requires linked datasets (e.g., CSBC data linked to health outcomes or other administrative data), submit your request through the Health Data Platform British Columbia (HDPBC).
- If your project requires CSBC data only, email csbcdatarequest@phsa.ca with a short project description and the specific data elements requested. CSBC will confirm data availability and provide an application form.
